Ragvale Ragdolls is situated in Christchurch, the beautiful Garden City of New Zealand, and proudly owned by Janet and Julie Abbott. We would not be able to carry on our delightful hobby without the enormous help of Janet's husband Colin.

We began breeding pedigree cats in 1981 but it was not until 1996 when we applied for the Ragvale prefix, that we invited the Ragdolls into our lives.

All our kittens are fully registered with New Zealand Cat Fancy Inc. and are sold with a four generation Pedigree, Health Guarantee, Vaccination/Worming Certificate and Information Leaflet, in an attractive folder for safekeeping. All our pet kittens are fully vaccinated and desexed before leaving our Cattery.

Kittens are raised underfoot in our home with the occasional visit from one of our two Rough Coated Collies. Julie's daughter Maddison and son Liam are in charge of the "wands" to teach the kittens how to interact with humans!

Most of our Ragdoll foundation cats were imported from Australia with our Tabbypoint boy being imported from California, the birthplace of the Ragdoll breed. Mid 2002 will see the arrival of 2 Ragdolls from England to join our feline family. Our kittens are bred from Australian, English and American lines, with strong emphasis on temperament, which we consider to be one of the most important characteristics of any breed of cat. Our Ragdolls are available in all three patterns of Colour point, Mitted and Bi-Colour in Seal, Blue and Tabby.

Ragvale have taken part in many large Pet Store Displays and Pet Expos, including being part of a Special Display at the Canterbury Museum and appearing on local television.
